The American justice system is often confusing and based more on -- well, we won't go there, at least not this time. But we are all aware that the American justice system is not perfect.
However, there are worse legal systems in the world. Take this case, for example: A young woman in Saudi Arabia met a man to retrieve some photos. They were both kidnapped and gang-raped. She was sentenced to 90 lashes for meeting with the man. Her attorney appealed the judgment against the kidnapper/rapists because according to their law the punishment for these crimes should be a death sentence. The criminals' prison sentences were lengthened, but the female victim's punishment was increased to 200 lashes and 6 months in jail for talking to the media.
I don't know about you, but I'm grateful to live in the USA.
